Museum Heritage Review ("we", "our", "the publication") is an independent editorial publication operated from Downtown Cairo. This policy describes what personal data we collect from visitors to museum-heritage.biz, how we use it, and what your rights are.
The data controller is Museum Heritage Review, 12 Champollion Street, Downtown Cairo, 11511, Egypt. For privacy questions you may contact us at [email protected].
We collect personal data in three situations:
We use only essential cookies required for site functionality, plus anonymous analytics to understand which articles are being read. We do not use advertising cookies, cross-site tracking, or any third-party marketing tag. For a full list of cookies and their purposes see our Cookie Policy.
Server logs are retained for 30 days and then deleted. Contact-form correspondence is retained for as long as necessary to respond and for a reasonable period afterwards — typically no longer than 24 months. Email-digest subscribers are retained for as long as they remain subscribed.
Where applicable data-protection law requires a legal basis (for example, under the EU General Data Protection Regulation for readers in the European Economic Area), the bases we rely on are: (a) legitimate interest in delivering the site and preventing abuse, for technical server logs; (b) consent, for the email digest and for non-essential cookies; and (c) performance of a request, for contact-form correspondence.
You have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to request its correction if inaccurate, and to request its deletion. You may also object to processing and, where processing is based on consent, withdraw your consent at any time. To exercise any of these rights please write to [email protected]. If you believe we have mishandled your personal data, you have the right to complain to the data protection authority in your country of residence.
Our hosting infrastructure is located outside Egypt. This means that technical data about your visit may be transferred to, and stored in, other jurisdictions. We use providers that implement appropriate safeguards and, where required by applicable law, standard contractual clauses.
Our content is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of the page records the most recent revision. If a change is material we will note it in the next issue of the email digest.
For any question about this policy or our handling of your personal data, please write to [email protected].
